How far can Othello be described as a tragic hero? in the true Shakespearean meaning?

The greeks' classification of the tragic hero was of one who begins in a high place (wealth, status, respect, ect.) and, through the course of the play, falls to low place. This hero would also have to possess a tragic flaw that would be the source of his undoing. Shakespeare followed this traditional convention when constructing Othello.
