Depends on whether you're talking about the movie or the book. ;-)
Beowulf is an imperfect guy, just like anybody else. But he doesn't lack courage. He's willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to defend his friends (and yes, win some glory).
Therefore, yes, I would say he exhibits the qualities of a true hero.Why is Beowulf a True Hero?
