Who is A True Hero / Heroine?

I Was thinking of Barack Obama? If you think that sounds good tell me. -OR- Give me some Ideas.Who is A True Hero / Heroine?
Why is this under category, comics and animations?





Well, Heroes/Heroines, I think have to be historical figures. I say this because the images of modern people are affected by media, pop culture, and general opinions and are therefore not a true gauge of what Heroism is.





I think looking back at someone who championed something you feel strongly about. Pick a leader at the head of Woman's Rights, Civil Rights, Human Rights. People who gave up their life or sacrificed inumerable amounts for others.





Obvious Examples:


- Elizabeth Cady Stanton


- Martin Luther King


- Gandhi


- Mother Theresa


- Some may include Fore Fathers of the USA





Pick who something you care about, and choose within that criteria.Who is A True Hero / Heroine?
a true hero/ heroine is someone who is willing to give up their lives for another. they are people who go to extreme lengths of obstacles for many. this doesn't necessarily have to mean they have to fight wars or anything but it could be that they just do it because it is right. they are people who truly know right from wrong and are willing to protect people on the sake of their own conscience behavior. its sort of like a guy going to extreme lengths to complete a promise he made to a girl on valentines day or something.
My organ donor is my hero, i wouldnt be here if it wasnt for them. I think they are pretty inspirational, after they are gone they can save about 10 people i think, from their organs and tissues.
if you're going to write about an african america, go for martin luther king?

Very few politicians have exhibited anything in the way of heroic behavior, least of all our presidents...

Good question .The guy that dived in a freezing river to save a woman that the had been there 30 miutes at least while policemen and fire fighters stood by
