Is it true that Gen. George Patton, the WW2 hero, believed that he was a soldier in many lives before his own?

I either heard or read somewhere that he wrote a poem about this issue of his having been reincarnated as a soldier repeatedly. Very intriguing but my usual sites and references say nothing about it.Is it true that Gen. George Patton, the WW2 hero, believed that he was a soldier in many lives before his own?
Yes, General George S. Patton used to privately (but not publically) speak of his belief in being continually reincarnated as warriors such as a Viking or Roman Legionnaire. And in his poetry:

From 'The Soul in Battle' 1922-1924

In the valley of the slaughter where the winged Valkyrie dwell

And the souls of men go naked to their God

I have seen the curtain parted, I have glimpsed the flinty trail

The final road the spirits have all trod.

Extracts from 'Through a Glass Darkly' 1922

Perhaps I stabbed our Saviour

In His sacred helpless side.

Yet I've called His name in blessing

When in after times I died.

鈥?

So forever in the future

Shall I battle as of yore,

Dying to be born a fighter

But to die again once more.

Also:

Oh! Here's to the snarl of the striving steel

When eye met eye on the foughten fiel'

And the life went out with the entering steel

In the days when war was war.

Oh! here's to the men who fought and strove

Who parried and hacked and thrust and clove

Who fought for honor and fought for love

In the days when war was war.Is it true that Gen. George Patton, the WW2 hero, believed that he was a soldier in many lives before his own?
The answer to your question is YES.

George Patton believed that he was a General before in many of his past lives, and would predict how a battle would go before the battle in WWII happened and was often quoted as ';I know what the enemy will do, he will do what he did before.';

Gen. Patton was able to go through Africa, and into Europe faster then other Generals that the American Forces and English Forces had because he did believe that he could always win the battle in WWII as he had done in WWI, The French Revolution, The Crusades, Fighting the Roman Legions, etc.

General Bradley, who was at one time below Patton, then became a higher ranking General then Patton would often patronize Patton for Patton's belief.....but Patton won more battles then Bradley did.
I tried to find the part of it in the movie ';Patton';, but I could only find this http://www.reversespins.com/patton.html. This has quotes from the movie, which answer your question. Answer is yes.
Yes...George was a man of many inconsistencies and many quirks. Still, he was one of America's greatest generals.
Yes, he was a Roman General
