Is It True That Playing Guitar Hero Helps?

Is it true that playing Guitar Hero helps develop muscles and finger movement needed to play a real guitar. I play both but i really haven't noticedIs It True That Playing Guitar Hero Helps?
On a scientific stand point, it should. Is It True That Playing Guitar Hero Helps?
yes it definately does, but only to an extent. Playing guitar hero involves the same motions, muscles, and level of thinking required to play guitar. But that being said it's certainly as dumbed down as it could be.

On a real guitar you obviously have 6 strings and you don't have colors to help you keep the beat. I know a couple of people who couldn't play guitar but loved GH so they decided to try out a real guitar. And sure enough they wern't pro's (obviously) but they could strum and make a chord faster then a lot of beginners I've seen.
No it does not. I play a real guitar and played GH and it does nothing at all to help you in any way.

All your doing is pushing some buttons and thats it. People say that because most are kids who somehow think playing guitar hero is like playing a real guitar and have no idea playing even a single 6 string acoustic guitar means learning how to make virtually thousands of different sounds by using a thousand very small differentiations.
BS %26amp; Pop media Propaganda that neither game is willing to admit to. It helps sell it to the wannabe musicians. To get good at playing guitar you need to play a REAL guitar somewhere along the way. Do you really think Wii Sports, Tony Hawk or Call of Duty are gonna give you any realworld skills? ;)
If it does develop muscles its not gonna be the same.

for me its hard to play guitar hero, i play bass, and the controller represents nothing more than like 5 notes on one string lol. i would rather play a real instrument than the game.
no i don't think it's true
