vincent of course. he triumphed over science itself which branded him a loser for life because of his genes. he overcame all the obstacles and beat out even the most perfect human specimens. in a very materialistic and science driven world, its almost assumed that man will eventually engineer itself to be perfect. vincent represents the humankind that is imperfect but triumphs against all odds. the message of the movie is simple - humanity cannot be engineered in a laboratory.In the movie ';Gattaca'; who is the true hero, Eugene or Vincent. Give reasons why please?
Hawkes character is a hero...Jude Laws character is a natural and is good at everything he tries his hand at - which makes him unmotivated to do anything - and leads him to drinking etc...Vincent is a runt pretty much - nothing comes easy and he has to work damn hard for whatever he gets...





In the end when Vincent goes to space - Eugene says ';Thank you for your dream';..thats a big point in the film...although Id say Eugene is a hero too, especially the part where crawls up those stairs for vincents cause
Vincent...bc he never gave up..he even went threw horrible pain to reach his dream...and he made it...he accomplished something most humans will never do....doing what they dreamed of doin when they were little
Vincent. He overcame odds and genetic discrimination to achieve his dreams.
