in the first film woody is a hero because he reaches a moral conundrum and has to overcome it, a character can never be a hero if everything comes easy to him, he has to overcome some challenge and woody is challenged with his own relevance when buzz enters his life, and how he will handle being challenged is his challenge. of course woody grows and eventually saves buzz's life. Who is the true hero of Toy Story and why?
Woody because he has Wood :P.But seriously Woody,Buzz caused many problems for woody when the first met and was tearing him apart from his friends.I look at it like(Football terms) Woody is the star quarterback and buzz gets the attention for scoring a touchdown.
Woody because he grows and learns to be a better friend and toy. He saves Buzz and teaches Buzz that to be a toy is a special and something to be proud of.
